As a sponsor, you'll regularly receive digital updates on your sponsored child, aiming to provide weekly updates. Upon enrolling as a sponsor, a team member will contact you to join our Family Network. Occasionally, we offer special Zoom video sessions, typically limited to twice a year. Additionally, we're in the process of developing a pen pal program, which will be launched in the near future.
At Brit's Home, each room is designed for five children cared for by one dedicated caregiver. We prioritize keeping 19 sets of siblings together, facilitating connections with their living relatives. Among our residents, 30% are genuine orphans, while others come from distressing situations with one surviving guardian. Upon reaching 18, they transition to our exclusive 'Transition' compound, where a specialized program prepares them for adulthood. We pride ourselves on innovative practices that diverge from local cultural norms, such as our commitment to non-violence towards children.
The children at Brit's Home all enroll in our advanced institution, Brit's Academy. Our approach emphasizes active learning, ensuring that comprehension goes hand in hand with practical application. While our primary mode of teaching is in-person, we also offer access to online education. Many of our children display remarkable proficiency in technology, often becoming educators themselves by aiding caregivers and teachers in enhancing their computer skills. The local educational system is antiquated, reflected in literacy rates below 50% in our area.
